One of my sources is the book: "The Steffen, Brandt and Euler Family Histories" by Virginia Gorton Bonne & Francis James Brenner dated 1999 I only have a photocopy of a few pages. Those pages show a Ferdinand Brandt and Marie Christine Wilhelmine Charlotte Steffen having a daughter Christine Charlotte Louise Brandt in Holzhausen-Porta in 1811. This daughter married a Berneking in Holzhausen in 1834 and emigrated to Stephenson County, IL, in 1862. Good Luck!
