My father in law's family, descending from Ernst Meier and Mary Hagene, were from New Design. The earliest I can place them there is about 1846. Does anyone know if there are books or records from New Design? What about the Catholic Church in Burksville.. would that have been the one that people from New Design belonged to? That church is closed, or being used for other purposes. I wonder if there's any more info about the town out there? If you know please let me know. Here's another odd town of our Shields family that I cant seem to find much info, on...Bushy Prairie. I drove there looking for it, and there wasn't anything in the area. Where did it go?
