    2. Linda: The Lemen monument stands in the middle of a field behind Nobbe Equipment off Rt. 3, visible from the road, especially when the trees are bare. This was part of the original Lemen claim, now owned by others. I checked my cemetery index for others buried there, but there was no AGNEW listed. However, the index states that there are at least 16 old stones, fully to partially visible, but only 12 were legible 30 years ago when this cemetery was indexed. There are mostly LEMENs, TOLINs, EASTWOODs and 1 McMURTRAY. James LEMEN Sr. and his wife, Catharine OGLE LEMEN are buried here. The other possiblity is New Design, although this was mostly built on the TOLIN claim, it probably "overlapped", although I'd have to check the map to be sure. I checked that index and found only one AGNEW - Rutha C. Agnew, wife of James N. Agnew, born July 3, 1863, died Jan. 20, 1882. I also checked the Burksville cemetery index although that's probably too far away to be part of the old Lemen claim, and found no AGNEW there either. As you know, this doesn't mean that he's not in one of these cemeteries. Many old graves were not marked at all, or just had big stones laid on them, which are long gone. I can't think of another cemetery that would be on the old LEMEN land grant. I've copied Pat in case she can think of one I'm missing. Janet
