I think anyone living in the town of Waterloo in 1840 would have had to be in that church, if it was built by then. (Was it?) My husband's side of the family lived in Waterloo, as well as in a few of the surrounding communities just near there, in fact, his grandfather was caretaker of St. P. & P church for many years. I think you'd have to say your folks were members of St. P/P if they lived in Waterloo at all. It's a tiny town...have you ever been there? There is only 1 parish, I'm sure.
