    3. Thank you all for your help. Still no luck. >From: [email protected] > >I don't know about an Index, but I have obtained copies of naturalization >papers from the Monroe County Courthouse. You might want to call the >Clerk of the Circuit Court at 618-939-8681, ext. 223. He can tell you >what's available and how to get it. Good idea. >From: [email protected] > >HUBERs in Naturalization Index of Monroe Co. (write to courthouse for >copies): >Book 2, John HUBER, p. 14, 3/24/1917, Zell, Backnang, Wuertenberg, Germany >Book 4, Anna Huber, p. 38, 12/18/1922, Alec, Hungary >Book 4, Joseph HUBER, p. 17, 3/2/1917, Sarmikolousul Make, Romania Welcome back Janet. Thanks for the list. I forgot to mention the time frame. Mr. Don't-Know-His-Name HUBER arrived in IL about 1840. My best guess at this point is Valentine & Rebecca HUBER. Valentine purchased 80 acres of land in Monroe and St. Clair Counties near Waterloo on 12/11/1837. Rebecca died 3 Jan 1879 at Red Bud. Hey, at least they were old enough! :-) >From: [email protected] >Lots of WAGNERs, but no Phillip. No Elizabeth HUBER, but see previous >message >for all HUBERs. Phillip was born in IL or maybe OH. I'm looking for his father, Mr. Don't-Know-His-Name WAGNER. My best guess is John Adam WAGNER. He purchased 40 acres near Waterloo, Twp 2S 9W section 9, 04/13/1835. He also appears in the 1860 census. I wish he was in the 1850 census, as Phillip (b. 1835) would probably still be home. :-) Perhaps some personal sleuthing is necessary. I think I'll have to visit scenic Monroe County this spring. Can anyone suggest an economical place to stay?
