He had moved there in 1876 after the death of his wife and apparently to be near his son Hedge Havens. In 1880 Hedge lived and worked on the farm of Jacob Fults in Renault. According to a family biography Thomas HK Havens was buried near Glasgow. He selected his own burial place, which was located on a high bluff, and the monument can be seen with a glass for a distance of twenty miles. Another souces give the burial site as Lake Mildred. I am interested in the location of his burial and the monument that can be "seen for twenty miles."
