    3. In the "Conveyance Records, 1816-1900, Monroe Co., IL, (County Clerk), Book I" there are several LONG(E)/LANG(E) persons buying and selling land during the 1830s-1850s. Their first names are Henry, Moritz, Michael, Nicholas, John & James. Does anyone have information about these persons or other LANGs/LONGs in Monroe County during this time? I am trying to trace my Henry & Catherine [SCHEURICH] LANG between when they emigrated from Bavaria in 1836 to when they settled in Dubuque County, Iowa, in 1847. Various censuses after 1847 list several of their children as born in Illinois; and a family story says that one child was born near St. Louis, Missouri. I have much info about their ancestry in Bavaria and their life in Dubuque County; but their location between 1836 and 1847 is a blank. If you want to read more about this LANG family see the "Lang Family History" at my website (in my signature). Daniel Daniel J.
