    3. Hello list, I am working on re-building the Monroe County site, I will trying to add something every day or so. Currently I am working on adding well over 2000 Monroe Co Funeral cards. They are from the scanned collection of Vernon Ritter. Thank you Vernon. I just finished uploading A-C, they are big lists. Yesterday I uploaded a page with WWI soldiers, as I receive or find more that will also be updated, there are plans for a WWII, Korean page. Also added are some obituaries. There have been some school group pictures and the 1938 Columbia High year book pictures added. As you can see there are several things listed as coming soon, I will get as much as I can uploaded as soon as possible. As soon as I get caught up I will want to do a researcher-surname list with your emails and surnames you are researching., I know the genealogy society has one but this one will be for all who are researching Monroe Co names. I will try to post here as I add data, pictures and such. If anyone has any pictures from Monroe County, or data, soldier bio's or anything that will be of interest and want to share it you can email me at lworth1@charter.net. Together we can make the site a great place to research. Thank you to all who have submitted the materials so far and to those for their warm welcome. Sharon

    1. Re: [IL-Monroe] Fw: [OGLE] Border Reiver DNA Project Is Seeking Ogle Particip...
    2. Many years ago - about 15 i think - there was a program on PBS about archaeolgists researching some small town in Maryland - and they turned up another town underneath that one. They found amazingly intact female bodies in a small cemetery - even the nosegay bouqets placed in their hands were simply dried and intact. They were doing testing on the females to find out if they were who they thought they were - thru lineage testing of current residents. A follow up program was promised - but I never saw it or missed it if it was shown. Does anyone else remember this? Linda

    2. Marsha Clark
    3. I'm in need of a travel companion to SW Germany for mid-September. My husband is adamant that I not go alone. Since there are many Monroe County researchers with Germany ancestry, I am hoping this opportunity might be of interest to someone, and I beg your forgiveness for my trying to reach you this way. I will be doing some genie research along the way, in lands where many Monroe ancestors originated. I welcome inquiries. Thank you. Marsha in St. Louis County

    1. Rogers Reunion and Seminar, Waterloo, IL 3-6 Sep 2004
    2. Stephen von Hitritz
    3. Hi everyone, As a reminder, Mr. Bob Burke and I are still in the planning stages for holding a Rogers Reunion and Seminar in Waterloo, Monroe Co., Illinois over Labor Day weekend 2004. Bob and I are descendents of Elder Peter Rogers (1755-1849). A long time resident of Waterloo and Rev War Vet. With his three wives, Peter Rogers had 13 children. My website: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/v/o/n/Stephen-R-Von-hitritz-VA/PDFGENE973.pdf contains info on 627 known descendents of Mr. Rogers This event will be rather loose, as Bob and I are not pros in planning or doing reunions. We have a tentantive agenda: Sep 3: Reception and Meet and Greet, Time Location TBD (maybe Morrison House) Sep 4: A.M. Kickoff and Presentation on Elder Peter Rogers and his descendants @ Peterstown House upper floor. Peterstown House Tour Lunch P.M. Presentation by Dryden Rogers/Isaiah Moses Combs author Cemetery Tour Masonic Lodge, Sword Sep 5: A.M. Attend church of choice/Open P.M. Inventory of Burke/Rogers paraphenalia Parents Stuff Close The above agenda depends on availability of Morrison House on Sep 3 and Peterstown House for the three days. Bob is checking on that. I would like to publisize this event as much as possible, but since I live in Richmond, VA and Bob lives in Greensboro, NC, there is not much we can do from a distance. As we know the Rogers family was huge in Waterloo and many desc still live in the area. If you are interested in attending, send me an email and I will keep you posted as plans come together. Steve
