    1. ([ILMONROE])May, Delahanty
    2. Looking for any connections with May (Martin, Patrick, James, John, Sarah) and Delehanty (Bridget, Thomas, James, Mary Ellen) also spelled Delahunty, etc. etc. Most came over from Ireland 1850-ish. Settled in Monroe County. Many buried at St. Patrick's in Tipton and later branched out to the East St. Louis area. Most were farmers. Thanks! Joe from Elgin, IL.

    2. Hi Cynthia, Daniel O'Leary and Catherine Mulquinn are in my tree. I haven't spent much time researching that branch because it is distant. I believe an O'Leary married into the May family, and that's my bloodline. I have a number of relatives (May) buried in St. Patrick's in Tipton along with Daniel and Catherine. Many others in the East St. Louis area. I'll do some digging on my end! Joe in Elgin, Illinois

    3. In response to "shout out" request I am listing my researched families:  Daniel O'Leary/Catherine Mulquinn; William I. Burke; Henry Vogel/Elizabeth Waltke; Caspar Kalmer/Mary Krieger; and all those Kleyers (Catherine, Caroline, Henry, Bernard, etc.)  All these families began their trek to Monroe County in the 1840's.  Some spread out to southern area of St. Clair Co. and others northern area of Randolph Co.  Been at this for decades.  Best, Cynthia in CA

    3. Hi everyone! Just letting you know that the lists are back up and running again so to "celebrate" our return I'm initiating a first ever Surname Shout Out. A Surname Shout Out works like a Roll Call where we all post an ancestor we're totally stumped on. Please be sure to add vital statistics like date of birth, death, marriage, etc. Happy Hunting! Her sister Genevieve or Geneva Esther STOWE was b. 6 Oct 1896 in Martin, MN and died 1 Nov 1912 in Monticello, MN. 3. I am looking for my 2nd Great Grandfather Nathaniel Heely.  He was b. Jun 15, 1810/1812/1816 in ME but at the time was MA.  I found land records in Waterloo, IL beginning Mar 8, 1834.  The last land record I found in Monroe County was Aug 1846. He married Rebecca Messenger nee Randleman in St. Clair County in Jun 1840.   He was a Plasterer by trade.  He was also a Master Mason and Grand Master in 1848 and 1851.  He died in Belleville, IL Jul 25 1852,  Story has it, he came to IL with his mother and 3 other  siblings.  Father was a sea captain who died at sea.  I have no idea who his parents or siblings were.  There is an Asa J. Heely also in Monroe County Illinois owning land and married Sarah "Sally" Rogers in Waterloo, that may be a sibling but I have nothing to confirm this.   I'm at a loss as to where else I can look to find him.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.    Thanks Sande

    1. [ILMONROE] Frederick HARRES (1860-1931) & Catherine HUCH descendants
    2. Ron Johnson via
    3. Are there any descendants or relatives of Frederick HARRES (1861-1931) and his wife Catherine HUCH (1867-1931) on this mailing list? I received an email from a Klaus-Peter Hölzer in Wersau, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany about the HARRES family. Apparently the town of Wersau is celebrating its 700th birthday this year. Seems that Frederick was the son of one Georg Adam HARRES that emigrated to the US from Wersau. The town is "welcoming home" any visitors that descended from Georg, or from any of the other 250 or so Wersau folk that emigrated here from there. He attached a PDF file of some of the HARRES genealogy. Let me know if you are interested Ron
