Jeffery In the 1870 Census: John Ross, age 48 is a tailor in Swedona. He and his wife Ann, age 38, were both born in Sweden. With them are their children: Matilda - age 12, Mary - age 9, Emma - age 4, Laura - age 2 and Amel - age 6 months. Other Rosses in Mercer County in 1870 are: George Ross, a butcher in Aledo - age 35, his wife, Elizabeth - age 38 and their son, George - age 1. (This family in Aledo) And others: Joseph Ross - age 45 in New Boston, Daniel B. - age 46 in Ohio Grove Township, Levi - age 23 in Keithsburg and Roxanna - age 25 living in Millersburg. Then in Menard County, there is another George Ross - age 22. If you need more info on any of thes folks let me know.
