Charles Pomeroy is located north of Joy in Duncan Townshop. Pome-Roy (Royal Fruit) was named after an orchard that was established in Section 31 by Tyler McWhorter in 1845. Only a single building remains. Greenmound Cemetery is located on the east side of the village of Keithsburg. M. Retherford's farm was located adjacent to the orchard in the north-east corner of Section 31. Francis M. Harvey married Mahala Miller in Henderson County on December 9, 1874.
