I do not have access to the type records this woman needs and I thought maybe someone out there could help. Thanks! My request is for a census lookup for 1920 IL census, possibly Preemption Township, Mercer Co., IL. I am searching for George Grear and wife, Miriam Grear. There may also be a Velma Grear (child) listed with them. I am specifically searching for Miriam's answers to questions on the census concerning citizenship, yr. of immigration to the U.S. and if naturalized, year of naturalization. More information I have about these 2 people was taken from 1910 IL census, Preemption Township, Mercer Co., IL. Both were born in England. Age for George Grear on 1910 census was 57 and Miriam 48 yrs old. I have found Miriam's brother answered these questions on citizenship on the 1920 census and would like to compare his answers to her answers since she is eldest sibling and because he was an infant when they came to the States. Even though I have his answers to these questions I am still having trouble locating a passenger list with this family. Teresa, I am assuming that you have the extract form for the 1920 census or that you have a copy of the brothers census record. So I'll just send the information along to you. Also I saw the marriage cert. for the couple and I'll send that also. It appears that they spent much of their time in Rock Island, IL, because they were married there and are buried there. And a few other events were there as well. I found an older Miriam in the records, 26 yrs old. Any relationship? If you would like a copy of the record I'll see if I can get it to you.
