    3. George W. Grear and wife Miriam are in Rock Island County, Rock Island City in 1820 #625 according to the National Archives census copy. They have a Benjamin Roe family living with them. George is a laborer for a floor co, age 61, born Il, father born Il, mother born Eng; Miriam is age 59, born England, parents born England. I could not quite focus the immigration information for Miriam but it looks like immigrated 1872, naturalized 1875 but would guess it is probably 1892 and 1895 as Miriam would only have been 11 in 1875. If you can access a paper copy of the census maybe you can read it better. Nadine Holder (and no I don't do lookups in the 1920 census but have researched the Cook/Cooke family for years so Teresa gets this for being a Cooke!) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lois Retherford" <la-retherford@wiu.edu> To: <ILMERCER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2003 6:25 AM Subject: [ILMERCER-L] FW: RAOGK request > I do not have access to the type records this woman needs and I thought > maybe someone out there could help. > > Thanks! > Lois Retherford > Joy IL > > -----Original Message----- > From: Teresa Nofsinger [mailto:teresanofsinger@hotmail.com] > Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 5:28 PM > To: LA-Retherford@wiu.edu > Subject: RAOGK request > > > > Dear Lois, > > I would like to request a lookup if you are still doing these for Random > Acts of Genealogical Kindness. > > My request is for a census lookup for 1920 IL census, possibly Preemption > Township, Mercer Co., IL.
