The clipping I have has only a partial date on it--the month ends in R, the day is the fourth, the year 1939. MRS. LUCY WAGONER IS 92; DINNER PARTY ON SUNDAY Mrs. Lucy Wagoner of Aledo who will observe her 92nd birthday anniversary Tuesday, October 10, will be honored at a family dinner Sunday, Ocotber 8, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fern Fuhr, on West Fifth street where Mrs. Wagoner lives. Her children plan to attend the birthday dinner accompanied by their families. They are: Earl and Lee of Aledo, George of Andalusia, Will of Reynolds, Mrs, Jennie Belt, Mrs. Chauncey Carver, and Mrs. Fuhr of Aledo; Mrs. Lena Cooper of Reynolds and Mrs. Sue Murdock of Millersburg. IN MERCER COUNTY 70 YEARS Mrs. Wagoner has been a resident of Mercer county 70 years. She and her husband, who died in 1928, farmed in Millersburg township from the time of their arrival in Mercer County until 1914 when they retired. Before coming to Aledo nine years ago to live with her daughter, Mrs. Wagoner was a resident of Millersburg. She and Mr. Wagoner [William Reid Wagoner] were married in North Carolina in 1869. Mrs. Wagoner was born in Laurel Springs, North Carolina, in 1847, the daughter of Washington and Matilda Long. Mrs. Wagoner is remarkably active for her age and enjoys keeping abreast of current events. She derives much pleasure from her daily walk, being out in the good air and sunshine. She is a member of the Baptist church.
