    3. Not sure which Mercer County Web Site you referred to as not including this cemetery. It is listed on my site as Jackson Greer Cemetery and is not on the maps yet but is listed as one we are looking for locations. That is at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Shores/Cemeteries.html It is listed on Teresa Davis's Web Site as Jackson Cemetery in Volume VI pages 15-18 That is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmercer I will send a copy of this to Teresa as she may want to change the i.d. to Jackson-Greer/Willits-Greer Nadine Holder On Thu, 25 April 2002, "George Carpenter" wrote > > It should also be noted that this pioneer cemetery is known as the > Willitt-Greer and Willett-Greer Cemetery depending on which plat book you > are using. 3. It should also be noted that this pioneer cemetery is known as the Willitt-Greer and Willett-Greer Cemetery depending on which plat book you are using. It was established on the W. I. Jackson farm in the SE Quarter of Section 10 in Abington Township in the mid 1800's. There were a number of Greer, Jackson and Willitt families in the area at that time. Today, it is located on the Truman Farm. Access looks to be restricted. It is not included in the Mercer County Web Site of the listing of Cemeteries in Mercer County. If I can gain permission, I will take a GPS reading and it will be included in Kevin Martins Mapping of the Cemeteries of Mercer County. 1. [ILMERCER-L] Mann Cemetery
    2. Anna
    3. A number of years ago I went to the Mann Cemetery, and I couldn't get in. The farm house across the road stated the man who let people in was busy in the fields that day. Then I tried again the following year, with no luck...and the cemetery really looked over grown. I would like to try again this summer. Someone had mentioned that all the cemeteries in the county are now open and accessible. Can someone confirm for me if this is correct concerning Mann. Thanks

    2. Anna, I didn't notice someone already found Jacob Medaw for you in the Illionis census when I offered up Middaugh from Ohio :). Well that was clever of you to find him with a different spelling, Marna! 1. [ILMERCER-L] Another Child...
    2. Hi Anna, I found another child for Jacob and Catherine Middaugh. She was Eliza E. who died 8-24-1850 aged 1 year. 1 mo. 17 days. This info was in the cemetery records of Candor Cem. Pope Creek ,Mercer,Illinois. Glad you could use the info I sent. there were several other Middaugh's in the census in 1850. They appeared to be maybe brothers of Jacob based on their ages. I meant to tell you that Jacob and family was in Suez Twp. Regards Marna Wakeland Wilson

    3. According to the 1860 census John Yard 52 was living in North Henderson with his wife Mary A. 49. Son Thomas 11 was born in Upper Canada, daughter Lucy 6 was born in Il. I have not found James and Rosanna untill 1870 and James is 33. So they had to have left England for Canadaby 1848 and they must have stayed in Canada for only a few years as Lucy was born in Ill in 1854.
