    3. Lois, Would you be willing to look up George W. Pickup and Mary Emeline Griffith that I believe to be buried in Peniel Cemetery. Do your records give date of birth as well or cause of death? Any other Pickups or Griffiths buried close by would be helpful. Thank you.. this is so kind of you to look these up for people. 3. I have found a Kinsey buried in Peniel Cemetery in Millersburg Township, east and south of Joy. My husband is secretary for Peniel, so we have the records for this cemetery because it is an active cemetery with several burials each year. The information I have is: Margaret (Noble) Kinsey -- buried 3-14-1985 I would be glad to look at the stone to see if there is more information if you would like. 3. Sue, I have the records for Peniel Cemetery and will look up what there is the the Kiddoo's and the Sherer's. There are several burials for both of those surnames there. I have an old reading also from the Old Brick Cemetery just down the road from Peniel also that might contain some info. I think if you check the Mercer County cemetery listings you will also find more of those surnames in other surrounding cemeteries. To this day there is a farm nearby that we still call the Sherer Place as it was called many years ago when my grandmother was young. She was born in 1901. I help him with the records and have found two Thomson's and also three Thomason's buried at Peniel. I would be glad to look at the stones to get further information for you if the names below are of interest or seem to be a match. Soon I will be walking to whole cemetery to write information off the stones that are there so I can put everything on computer for easier look-ups. We have only been at this since 2000 and we are noticing there are several burials without headstones. Our goal is to get a directory posted there with locations of all burials so you can find the gravesite whether there is a stone or not. Lots of the Swede's from Mercer went there, before they started the church they met at peoples houses. The Swenson Center in Rockisland at Augustanna College has church records for the Swedish churches in the states and can order the ones from Sweden, but you need someone to translate them.
