    3. Mrs. Reilly Welcome to the list! Happy hunting! Re: Sample Family In the 1860 Census, the Sample Family looks like this: They are farming in Preemption Township. Samuel is 59 years old and Experience is 60. Samuel was born in Ohio and Experience was born in Connecticut. Their children, listed as follows are, James - age 28, born in Ohio. William - age 23, Levi - age 20, George - age 17 and Daniel - age 18 were all born in Illinois. In the 1870 Census, the family looks like this: Still farming in Preemption Township. Samuel must have died. Experience is 70 years old and living in the same household is Sample Sample - age 66, William - age 30, Daniel - age 25 and John - age 17. Now it lists William as born in Indiana and Daniel and John born in Illinois. Living next door is Levi J. Sample - age 28 with his wife, Sarah E. age 23 and Alice - age 6. In 1875, they own 120 acres in Section 13, Preemption Township. This should get you off to a good start in your search.
