Just go to www.usgenweb.com/il. Then go to county selections. Click on DeWitt. There are several links. All the links are in red. Obituaries are at the top right of the screen. There is listing of cemeteries, pictures of cemeteries that have tombstones, some have a list of names. Newspaper Abstracts, Life and Times. Just click on the link you would like to see. The censuses are on the right side of screen. For the obituaries, click obituaries, select the initial of the surname you are looking for. Many of the obituaries starting at the very beginning have a lot of info in them with different surnames, i.e. Mrs. Mary Miller Mead was married to David Barclay Jr. Other names appear as family members, pallbearers, etc. A lot of the obits are for people fro all over, KY, VA, OH, KS, etc. For the Newspaper Abstracts from the Clinton Public, there is 1885 and 1887 in purple, click one of those dates and it gives abstracts for the months of those years. Just Browse. T! here is a lot of info here. You just have to seek, and you will find. Many of these families in the DeWitt, Clinton, Effingham, and Crawford Counties moved into Mclean Co. I have browsed these different counties to find my ancestors in DeWitt Co and Mclean Co. Shari
