Donna, I am not sure if this is the same Brittin, but there is a family Brittin from around LeRoy. A lady by the name of Helen Hume is a historian there. She has many Brittians, Brittins in her family. I can give you her address. She does not have e-mail. Every Saturday she sits at the Crumbaugh Museum waiting for someone to come by. The museum is at 405 E. Center St. LeRoy, IL 61752. and is open from 1-4 p.m. Helen has volumes of LeRoy history. Maybe she can help you. A John Thomas Hume married Irene Brittin Dec 29, 1915. John comes from a well-to-do Hume family that came from Scotland. John's father married Ann Stone, cousin of President Arthur. The Brittin's are also in with the Swearingen family. By the way, Helen is 74 years old, and still going strong!!!! If you have a particular Brittin in mind, I may have some things that Helen sent to me while researching my Reynolds. Shari
