Koch, 87, of St. Joseph, formerly of Cheney's Grove Twp, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednseday 8-28-2002 at Provena Covenant Mecial Center, Urbana. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freese Funeral Home, St. Joseph, Pastor Ken Hutchens officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation. Mrs. Koch was born 9-30-1914 at Cheney's Grove Twp, a daughter of Edward and Florence Preston Bowen. She married Jay "Dick" Koch on 8-24-1947 at St. Louis, Mo. He died 7-26-1998. Surviving are one son, David A. Koch, rural Urbana; three daughters, Eleanor "Ellie Knipfer, Urbana; Delores Grogan, LeRoy; and Sherree Kirby, St. Joseph; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchidren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers, two sisters and one grandson. She was a member of the Saybrook Methodist Church for years before! transferring to the St. Joseph United Methdosit Church. She worked at Lewis Department Store in Champaign; Bank of Illinois; and was employed by Richard N. Noel. ladybug@arends-sons.com
