    3. Jan, I checked for your ancestor and found a few things that might be of interest to you. 1) In a book called The Hudson Colony, there was section on the Hudson Baptist Church. It listed contributors for their building fund in 1859 and included Richard Roberts. This is a nice little book about the Hudson area written by Ruth Bitting Hamm in the 1970's. It could possibly be borrowed via interlibrary loan and I have also seen it available used at the bookstore site www.addall.com Those of you on the list with ancestors in the Hudson area might want to look into this book. 2) I found an R. Roberts on the 1866 plat map living residing in Gridley Township (near Hudson Township--see this link for township locations http://www.mcfb.org/oldbarns/townshipmaps.htm). There were several Berryman's living in Hudson township at the same time. R. Roberts was not listed in the 1874 plat map of McLean County. 3) I did check for published biographical material and found nothing. This is fairly typical when families left the region as opposed to those who resided here for many years and/or generations. I made copies of this information for you and if you send me your address off the list, I will mail it.
