I have asked several individuals for help in McLean Co. info--and they have been good about responding. But I really need help in two specific areas. Thomas Kane/Cain, died in Heyworth Twp., McLean Co. on Feb 9, 1875. Looking for any newspaper account or obit. on his death, plus a possible location of burial. The other area is any information about one John W. Cummings. He married Lorissa Burkholder ( my ggm )on Jan.13, 1860 in McLean Co., but disappears after that. She remarries around 1865. Is there a way to access Military records for the county over the internet to see if he enlisted in the Union Army and was possibly killed in action ?
