Marilyn, I don't have any connection to the Spawr family here in McLean County but I have just posted biographical information on them at the Rootsweb site for you. Johan Valentine Spawr must have been commonly called Valentine as that is how he is always referred to in the bios. There are also biographies for two of his sons, Jacob and George. There may be more information in these two books I checked, but I don't have a complete index to either here at home. You can check out the biographies at this URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/McLeanBios There was mention of a Conrad Flesher of Lexington Township who might be a good candidate to check into further as a father/other relative of Harrison Flesher. When I get to the library next time, I can check the plat maps from 1866 and 1874 to see if that would yield some clues for you. Let me know if this would be helpful. A recent township map of McLean County can be found at the address below--at least it may help you in terms of locating the various sites mentioned in the biographies. http://www.mcfb.org/oldbarns/townshipmaps.htm As these are all very early settlers here in McLean County, you likely would find land records available through IRAD--probably where you already found the marriage records you mentioned in your query.
