    3. To those interested in the Flesher Family in McLean County: I did a bit a digging on the Flesher family today as there appears to be a number of interested researchers. The family had its roots in Virginia, moved to Ohio for a period of time and then came to McLean County in a few waves. The oldest Fleshers that appear here are Coonrod Flesher circa 1835 (?), Henry Flesher circa 1831, and John Flesher circa 1841. I am not sure how they are related but all appear to follow the same migration pattern as far as I can tell. The linage of Coonrod can be found in his ancestral file on at www.familysearch.com. Of the 14 children listed, Benjamin, Madison, Solomon, and Thomas J. all show up in the 1840 McLean County census, which I believe was the earliest census taken. It appears that there are IGI records on many of the various other family members as well. This is what is listed about Henry Flesher & John Flesher in the ‘Soldiers of the Revolution & the War of 1812 Buried in McLean County’ by Milo Custer: Flesher, Henry, b. Highland County, Virginia, Sept. 2, 1784. Private, ? Capt….’s Company,….Regt, Virginia Militia, War of 1812. Settled in McLean County, Ill. About 1830, d. near Lexington, Ill. Oct. 1, 1850. Settled in McLean County, Ill, 1841 d. near Lexington, Ill. April 29, 1868. Buried in Scroggin’s Cemetery, Lexington, Ill. (Grave Marked, Society of 1812, No. 164) Wife, Mary (Siebert) Flesher, ch. Jesse Flesher, Peter Flesher, George Flesher, Catharine (Flesher) Turnipseed-Vanderventer, John Flesher, Jr. Mary (Flesher) Jones, Alcinda (Flesher) Flesher, Elizabeth (Flesher) Blake, Andrew Flesher, William M. Flesher. There are bios on Peter, John Jr. and William M. in the Portrait & Biographical Album of McLean County if you are interested. It appears to me that Josiah Flesher is the son of Jesse Flesher who is listed above. In the 1860 census (transcription), they are in adjacent households. Jesse was 55 born in Va and his wife was Catharine 48 also born in Virginia. I ran out of time and was not able to place Charles and Harry, but perhaps you can use this information combined with what is on the LDS site to find their linage. I do have a few more names written down if you come up with anything else you want me to check. Hope this helps, Lisa McLean County _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
