Where could I get the Death Cert. of my GGrandfather Thomas Lake Gordon from Heyworth ILL. He died March 22 1862 at Gladden Valley Mo. while in the 94th Illinois Vol. Infantry Co. B Would the infro be in MO. or ILL. Thank you Jack Neeley

Jack, don't bet on getting a Death Cirt from either state at that early date. Most of them are not recorded. You might try getting his enlistment papers from the National Archives, that will give you information and perhaps info regarding his death. Did he leave a widow or children? There might be widow's benefits information if his wife applied or he had minor children.
