    2. For Cara, about McLean County death records: IRAD will do a lookup for you for $1.00 for the first page, and .25 per copy after that. Go to www.usgenweb.com, choose state pages, then Illinois, then IRAD. They will direct you to the new IRAD website. You can do a search through the databases to see what records the state has online for your relatives. However, I got my great-great grandfather's death certificate from them, and it wasn't listed in the search results. They will look on microfilm for certain records that they keep which may not be listed online. McLean County deaths are kept at Illinois State University. If you read the Illinois state website information, you will find the address and the record types held at each university. Just write to them, and you will have a copy of the death record within a couple of weeks if they have it. If not, McLean County will do a lookup for you for $7.00, if you write to the county clerk.
