    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] ILMCLEAN-SHILOH CEMETERY
    2. I'm trying to find procedures to visit the Shiloh Cemetery in rural Heyworth, IL. I believe you have to go on private property to get there. When I last drove to the area I saw a sign for a Miller Cemetery and per sources I've found on the net, the two cemeteries are next to each other. Hopefully someone can tell me how to get there. Last time I took the 4 hour drive to get there and couldn't go the last 1/4 mile. If not better directions of how to visit the site at least where to find a listing of those buried there. I'm looking for Jane Johnson Simonson and perhaps an infant daughter. Thanks in advance. Bev Dierdorff- bjdjld@aol.com

    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] Storey and Lightholder in Chenoa
    2. Tony & Linda Kmiecik
    3. I am searching for the burial place of Mary (Lightholder) Storey and her daughter Harriet or Hannah. Mary married Joseph Storey in Peoria Co., IL in 1867, with the ceremony performed by a Justice of the Peace. The Lightholders lived in 1860 in Richwoods Twp., Peoria Co., and in 1865 in Radnor Twp., Peoria Co. It is believed Mary and perhaps her daughter died in 1877, place unknown. A correspondent wrote me that yet another researcher back in the 1970s was looking for their burial places in Radnor Twp., Peoria Co. where both the Lightholders and the Storeys lived in the 1860s, possibly in or near a now extinct town named Orange Prairie. However, by 1870 the Lightholders and some Storeys and a related family, the Elsons, had moved to Chenoa, McLean Co., IL. It is possible that Mary and her daughter were buried there instead. Does anyone have information on cemeteries in and around Chenoa? I descend from Mary's brother Thomas Lightholder. Most of my Lightholder records! are from Livingston Co. where they lived 1880+, and most of the family is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Pontiac, Livingston Co., since the family was Catholic. She was listed as a widow and we know she married James Means in Ohio about 1868 or 1869. Her first husband Warren Timberlake died in Morgan Co., Ohio 1867. Also I think her daughter and her husband also were in your county in 1880. Johnson and Pricilla Adams-Adren-Adrien. Not sure of last name. Thanks patti@hocking.net

    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] Thanks, 1910-1920 census
    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Thanks to everyone for the info about the census. tammy, I want to thank you personally, as I know you have spent a lot of time and effort on behalf of all of us. I have received mail that states people have terrible problems with Lizard Tech downloads. My brother in KY is experiencing the same thing with them. I will try again after Christmas. When I go to the obituaries, there is 2000 and 2002. I clicked the one that seems to be the only one with any obits. Sometimes it comes up, then when I go back to it later, a URL message comes up that says problem may be with server, or this page can't be displayed at this time. I also posted an obit for my mom who was born in Bloomington, and lived there a good part of her life. She has many relatives who live there. She died in 1979. This section may not be complete at this time. I am sorry for being such a pain about the census. I will keep trying until Iget them. It may take time!!! And to Linda in California, thank you. You were not imposing. shari

    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Is anyone else having trouble getting into the Mclean County 1910-1920 census? Tammy was even kind enough to send me specific instructions. I downloaded exactly as she said, and as exactly as Lizard tech said. I still can't get the census. It just brings up a page that says, "Your submission is successful." Or it reads similar to that. Am I supposed to register my name even though I am not using this for commercial use, but my own personal use? Am I supposed to wait for some kind of confirmation to come back? Tammy said just double click the image I want to view. I do not get an image. I have had no trouble with other state or county census that I have had to download. My computer is very up-to-date, etc. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? Also, once I get them, if I do, do I have to download everytime I want to look for something? I really would like to get into these two censuses as this is where my mom's side of the family is!! Tammy, if you are out there, sorry I did not contact you first. Thought someone out there may be able to tell me something else. And I have probably worn my welcome out with you!!!! Thanks, Shari I am also getting a broken link on the obituary page at times, but this could be a server problem.

    3. Trying to find info on James D. Reynolds and Isabella White Reynolds, great-grandparents. Son, James Irvin married a Warner (Laura), who is also my dad's aunt. James I. is my mother's uncle. Irvin was married to an Addiline before Laura. They had a daughter, Zerua C, who married a Robert Leek. They resided in Bloomington at the time of Irvin's death. The Reynolds/White families came from Ky, settled in Crawford County, then moved to DeWitt when very young. Am trying to find James and Clarence. Also, Beryl Rolofson, lived with my great aunt Stacy A. Reynolds Hume and George Hume in the 1920 DeWitt Census. Effie. E. Williamson, my aunt lived with them also for several years. Beryl was 10 years old at the time. Stacy and George Hume died in Bloomington. Have Stacy's death, but not Geroge. Also need Laura and Irvin's marriage. Do not think they married in IL. I was born in Bloomington in 1945 to Eunice and Cameron Phillips Sr. My mother was the daughter of Sarah Elizabeth Reynolds Williamson and William Albert Williamson. Eunice was married first to Glenn D. Underwood. They had daughter, Betty Jane, who died in 1927, and two sons, Kenneth Underwood Phillips and Richard Lee Underwood Phillips. My childhood area covers Mackinaw, Effingham, Bloomington areas. I lived in Rantoul ever since I was little, until I married. I am now in Beaufort, SC. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. 2. Carla: Schools were called "Ward Schools" before they were named after individuals. In my 1874 Atlas Third Ward extended South and West from Front and Madison Street. They were public schools, of course. The area was settled to a great deal by German speaking people. Some of we oldsters remember the term, not in the least meant as derogatory, referring to them as the South Hill Dutch. What an interesting relative you had! Think of all she lived through. 2. I have what are called incomplete death indexes covering 1887--1915 for only Randolph County, Illinois. I also have cemetery indexes only for Randolph County. Only marriage and land records were kept with any diligence prior to the late 1870s in Illinois (because they involved money, taxes), and spottily up to about 1900 when the State began to impose penalities for not reporting births and deaths. 3. I just found the obit for my g-grandmother's half-sister, Stella Johnson Masker, who died at 105. Her obituary states she attended the 3rd Ward School in Bloomington (probably around 1895). Does anyone know what type of school this was? Was it a public school or private? Just curious. Thanks - Carla Leber
