thanks for the info on Bucks road. I did a map quest search and found it, along with Sugar Grove Cemtery. My brother had been to Long Point years ago. He wished he had known about Sugar Grove. It really blew our minds when we saw Buck's road on my grandfather's death certificate. I can't figure out why mom always said the her gr-grandparents and grandparents where buried together at Long Point. I am thinking my gr-grandparents are at Sugar Grove, and my grandparents are at Long Point. I wonder who might be in the other two plots? Maybe no one. I am owns curious as to who owns the plots. I am getting ahead of myself. I will have to find out for sure if James D. and Isabella White Reynolds are actually at Sugar Grove. I gave up on the Sexton. I never got any replies to my phone calls, or letters. Just wrote to the town of Wapella about what a time I have had trying to get someone to answer my letters pertaining to cemetery information. I know everyone is getting tired of this. I want to know if they have headstones so I can have some small one put at their gravesites. Thanks again, Shari
Marilyn, are you any relation to the late Glenn D. Underwood of Bloomington? Glenn's mother and father were Clay and Dora, I believe of Stark County, IL. My mother, Eunice May Williamson, was Glenn's wife until their divorce in 1929. They had children Betty Jane, Kenneth Ray, and Richard Lee Underwood. Betty Jane died in 1927, and Ken and Dick were adopted by my father later in life. Ken and Dick are now deceased. Ken lived at Deland, Florida for many years. He owned a print shop. I believe Glenn had siblings, Floyd, Carroll, and Thomas? If you are descendant of Glenn D. Underwood family, would love to hear from you Have a great day, even though it is ever so cold. Shari, Beaufort, SC
Thanks for resubmitting the Ruffner/Ruggles/Rolofson site. For some reason, I thought a gentleman by the name of Wheeler had sent it. Sorry about that. By the way, do you know of an Eva Reynolds who might have fit into the Rolofson line somewhere. Eva was b. in IN. d. before 1916, m. before 1908? That is all the info Kate had on her. I will try to go through the complete website you sent to see if I can connect a date. Thanks again, Shari
People must think we live on these computers!!! I will look into Ancestry.com to see about a subscription. Just depends on their rates. I think it is easier to go that way than all this frustration. I found Buck's Road, by the way. Went to map quest. It joins into 1000 E, where Long Point Cemetery at Wapella is located. At least the road still exists! Thanks for the warning on the cold weather. We watch weather channel around the clock, hurricanes, tide changes, etc. We visited our son and kid-in-law in NE over Christmas. We were thinking about moving back to midwest, but our old bones couldn't take it!!! I miss the snow, though. Wanted to stop by a couple of cemeteries, but the weather got the best of us. Maybe sometime this summer. Bedtime, Goodnight everyone. Shari
Carlene, thanks for finding the info for Meloday in NY. I printed it out incase she misses it. I will keep my out for her in the list. I will send her the info giving you all the credit!!! About William Albert Williamson, the only thing I know is that in 1899, he and wife Sarah Reynolds Williamson lived at 115 W. Cherry, Normal. In 1909, they lived at 411 W. Market. When William died Jan 20, 1919, they lived at 508 W. Olive St. It says on his death certificate that place of burial was Wapella, then it says something like Bud's Road, Bride's Road, Bude's Road. Mom always said he was buried in Long Point Cemetery near Wapella. I know where Long Point is. Do you or anyone else out there know about this road. Is there a mortuary that is on that road? The undertaker address is 523 N. Main, but I assume that is in Bloomington. Can't make out his name--Ferd A. Flinispach ? I am on the ILDEWITT list but apparently no one ever uses it. Maybe I should go back and read their subscribe again. It might be lower case. I thought it to be Fred, but it isn't. Name difficult to read. My Uncle also put William's mother as his wife, and William and Sarah as the pare! nts of deceased. Am looking for Mrs. Anna Williamson, also. (Apparently his mother) I don't think she lived in Bloomington, but maybe. William was born in Alton, IL, near St. Louis. Anyhow, children of William and Sarah were Effie, Ollie, George, Dewey, Helen, Eunice, and Roy. I know Effie lived for many years with George and Stacy Hume. Stacy died in Bloomington in 1942. Stacy was Sarah's sister. Ollie died young, probably around 1917-1918. Effie was born in 1890, and Ollie probably 1892. Don't know when George, Dewey, Helen were born. My mom, Eunice, was born Aug 1904, and Roy Williamson was born 1909. I know George lived in Rantoul for many years. He was married to Fern McClellan, and buried in Dry Grove I believe. George had George Jr. who died young. Wendall and Bobby. Dewey was a wealthy businessman. married twice, I think, and disowned only child, a daughter. Helen resided in Ohio most of her adult life. She was married to Gail Wooley, who ran for state senator of IL. ! Roy has children still running around in Bloomington, and grandchildren Prathers. And the story goes on. Mom was married first to a Glenn D. Underwood around 1920. They divorced in 1929. My really big brick wall is William Albert Williamson. I think once I can get somewhere with him, then I can find his family. Am going to send to the Madison County Genealogical Society about him. Sorry I got carried away. Maybe someone will read this, and recognize some names. Thanks again for your assistance. Shari
Rooters, Still searching feverishly for any information on Sallie COLLIER Allen and Hiram Jay ALLEN and/or their descendants, last known address, 318 North Street, Normal, McLean County, Illinois in November 1941. TIA Mac aka Frederick COLLIER McCutcheon
Thanks Carlene, for the Barclay info. I printed it out incase Meloday of NY does not see it. I noticed some people talking about the 1900 Mclean census. Does that have to come from Tammy, the list administrator, also? I would love to get all the Mclean County censuses that are available. Mclean County is where my mother's family was from (Father, Mother, etc) Mom's father and mother married in DeWitt County in 1889, but I have pages from phone directory for 1899 (Normal), and 1909 for Bloomington. Do you have to purchase the 1900 census on CD? If anyone knows, I would appreciate knowing. Thanks Shari in South Carolina IT IS SO COLD HERE!!!

Carlene, Meloday in NY wanted to find these names: Jacob William Creed Harrison Henry Otto Barclay Bernie Parks Martha Berthina Young Endicott (I am not sure it she may be the Martha Harrison) Alva Earl Harrison. I just sent to the mailing list the names of J. W. Harrison and family, Martha Harrison, and E.E. Barclay The daughter of J.W. and Alice, I believe, is Zephu D. I looked through a magnifying glass to see it. I know that Zephu is a common name, along with Zerhua, Zerua, Zephua, and so on. If you can find the rest of the names for Meloday, she would probably appreciate it. I will probably have to contact Tammy again and order the whole Allin twsp again. I have pestered her once too many times about getting the census. This time the 6-10, and I noticed just now that my 14 is also gone, was not my fault. Tammy has been most kind in providing me with instructions, etc. Her work is greatly appreciated. By the Way, Carlene, do you know if the 1910 Mclean County census is ready. I am trying to find William A. Williamson, wife Sarah, and the children living with them at the time. They seem to have "spread out" their children. I am trying to see if my mother's sister's actual name was listed as "Ollie," and how old she was. Thanks for your help, Shari sharuck@islc.net
Meloday, so far this is all that I could find on your Harrison family. I looked also for Barclay, Endicott, Parks, but did not find any of those, except for one Barclay, E.E. J.W. Harrison, Head, Owns Free of Mortgage, age 61 Born in IL, Father from IN, Mother, TN, no occupation Alice A, Wife, age 57, b. IL. Father b. MD. Mother b. Germany Zephu D. dau. age 26, single, IL IL IL All can read and write. Martha Harrison. Head, Owns Free Farm, age 38, widow, B. IL Father b. KY, Mother b. IN. occupation none. Can read and write. Barclay, E.E. Head, Rents, age 32 B. IL, Father B. MO, Mother B. IL General Farmer, Occupation. Elsie, wife, age 30, B. IL, Father B. Germany, Mother B. IL Clifford, son, 4 4/12 months. IL IL IL E.E. and Elsie can read and write. Hopefully, if I can get the rest of my census that I lost, the rest may show up. I will probably have to send for the whole Allin Twsp again. I live on an island. We are just trying to come into the 21st century. Unfortunately, with the overhead powe lines, and big oak limbs, and lineman who can't seem to get it right the first time, a lot of stuff gets lost down here. Our neighbor lost his whole computer system. Lightning and pine trees don't mix either. We have lost TV's, microwaves, etc. Sorry I couldn't find all them for you. I imagine the J. W. is Jacob William Creed Harrison. Shari sharuck@islc.net
I am trying to locate John & Lucinda Wynn in the 1900 census. I have done a page by page search of Empire Twp., Randolph Twp., & Hudson Twp. All known places that this couple lived with no results. The name could be spelled Winn or even Wayans. Children of this couple are; James, William or Jasper, Albert or Bert, Elzie, Bessie, Tina, Johnnie, Elmer, and Lawrence. If you can provide me with a page number, I can look it up. Thank you!!! Doris Wynn
I will try to get through the names sometime tomorrow or Thursday. So far I have not seen any Harrisons. I got 24 sid. #, which are quite lengthly. My 6-10 got wiped out when men were working on power lines. Hoping for Tammy, our administrator, will send them again. I will try to get to the rest that I have tomorrow. If you want the 1920 census, you can go to the Mclean Website. Click Data, click Census. There is a registration form that Tammy requests you fill out. All you do is put your name and e-mail address in. My suggestion is to first download the DiJu view Lizard Tech. Just click for "windows", then download. Doesn't take very long. Click "yes" that you have downloaded. Click the Allin Twp. When tammy send them via e-mail, All I do next is "save". Go to your file 1, (My Computer), if you have windows, and all the sids should be listed. Then all you have to do is click i.e., sid 24, open with internet explore. You do not have to be online to open t! his. Once you get the hang of it, it isn't so bad. I will let you know sometime tomorrow, late, if I find anything in the other ones that I have. Hopefully, I will be able to get 6-10. I have to do 1-5 and 11-15. It shouldn't take that long. If they are not on what I have, someone may have 6-10 that can see if Harrison is on there. If anyone has the McLean Co. cemetery book that includes Allin Twp., I would greatly appreciate a lookup. I believe Estella Frances (PEASLEY) TALLON is buried with an infant daughter in the McLean/Mt. Hope Cemetery. I would appreciate it if someone could look up Stella and see what information is there. Thanks, Mark careymj@charter.net
Carla, if I were you, I would see if someone is going to be going to the McLean County Courthouse. Maybe they can get the copy of the death certificate for you, or to make sure it is there before you order. Some nice people out there do it for free, other than the cost of the copy. It might be cheaper this way, also. Also, you might try the Illinois Archives at Normal, Illinois State University. They should have a copy. You might find someone who lives in that area willing to do lookups. By the way, what is the name of the person you are looking for? If you are not sure of the date, maybe someone can do a lookup of the 1920 Mclean County census. I have the Allin Township, Stanford that I am reviewing now. Good Luck, Shari I have the name and e-mail of Mary Rottmann, who does genealogy research for Springfield or South of there. My grandfather died in Bloomington in 1919. Mary got his death certificate for me, I believe from Springfield. She charges a very minimal fee for the copy--and that was it. It wouldn't hurt to e-mail her to see if she can help you. She also stated that if anyone is waiting for the free death certificates from the Illinois State Archives, the staff told her as of January 7, they have 17,855 requests left to fill!!! Her e-mail is rottmann@hotmail.com. If you have the name, she can at least check for you to see if they have it.
FYI ... I am the "lady in MN" who's researching Rolofsons ... as some may have surmised. If you have information about these Rolofsons and related folks, please contact me by the list or to my email address (kbcook@cfaith.com). Thanks. I would like to send away for my gg-grandmother's death certificate in McLean County BUT (there's always a but) I don't know the exact date and I'm not 100% sure she died there. I found her in the 1913 Bloomington City Directory living with her son, but that's the last I have on her. Has anyone requested materials from the McLean County Clerk? Their website makes it sound like they are pretty stringent. Are they fairly friendly? Thanks - Carla
