Cochran: 1)enlisting 10 June 1862 in the 68th Illinois Infantry Co. G as a Private and mustering out as a Private in the Union Army at Camp Butler, Springfield, Illinois on 26 September 1862. 2) ) enlisting as a resident of Heyworth, McLean county, Illinois, Dec 15, 1863 in the 12th Illinois Calvary Regiment as a Private, mustered out as a Sargent in the Union Army. There is no mustering out information available for Isaac, nor is he listed in those who died in battle A transcript of this Cavalry can be found at <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilcivilw/f&s/cav012-fs.htm"> http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilcivilw/f&s/cav012-fs.htm</A> The Regiment was mustered out at Houston, Tex., on the 29th of May 1866, and arrived at Springfield on the 14th of June, and on the 18th, it received final pay and discharge. John C. raised family in Champaign Co., IL Maria (Myra) E. Cochran m. Samuel Sniff, second wife, had three children, died and buried at Shiloh next to her father, Franklin Rebecca Cochran m. Townsend Iden, both buried Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy, Mc Lean, Illinois William George, m Anna M. Hunt at Waynesville, De Witt co., Illinois. What a major roll call!!! I have the 1920 census for Allin township, Stanford, and for Old Town. I am slowly but surely making myway through them. Some of the Allin township got wiped out. The Old town census is very dark, and ink smeared. A lot of names are very difficult, if not impossible to read. I will try to help out with some of the names, but please give me some time.
