    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] PHARES
    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. I was just going through my SOUTH-CENTRAL-KENTUCKY list and the administrator had this posted for Cumberland Co. KY land deeds. ABSOLEM PHARES SR. to ABSOLEM PHARES JR. It is from deed book M, and time frame is 1850. Sandi Gorin is an ardent genealogist, and this is an excellent list. She is always posting names from Marriage books, land, deaths, etc. Since many of our ancestors came from KY, this is an excellent list to belong to. The counties are for ADAIR, ALLEN, BARREN, CUMBERLAND, EDMONDSON, GREEN, HART, LOGAN, METCALFE, MONROE, and WARREN.with RUSSELL or WAYNE CO info ok. Shari I am not researching PHARES, but know that several are in MCLEAN CO, so try to help when I find a name I recognize.

    3. The Disappearance of Frank Phares and the marriage of Albert Phares is at http://ftp:rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/il/dewitt/newspapers/news.txt If this address doesn't work for you, try a "period" after the ftp. The disappearance appears as published 1/30/1903. And the marriage just says that Albert Phares to Zilphy Arthur, Month of Sept, 1879. If you have a problem accessing this, let me know, and I will guide you through, or print the article for you here. Shari

    3. RE: Woods I have family connections to a Frank E. Woods (b. 1858) who married Magdalena "Maggie" Fry (b. 1855). They lived in Dry Grove, White Oak, and Hudson townships. Frank served as constable in Hudson township. Their children included Walter, Viola, Cora, Homer, and Ila. Eight other children died young. I am looking for more information on the family, or would share what I have. 3. I am hoping the persons that asked about BRITTIN and HENSON families are on this list. May be ILDEWITT. Found J. M.BRITTIN was a Justice of Pease in Wapella, Il, Dec 1881. Also found a THOMAS J. HENSON, newspaper report date 14 FEB 1908, died from Anemia (hard to read) This also killed his twin brother, H. C. HENSON. They were both in a Decatur, IL hospital at the same time. Thomas wand H.C were born 4 JAN 1847. Parents listed as JOHN and MARTHA HENSON from Ky. They came to Turnbridge Twsp until 1855, then moved to Clinton. Note: I do not have this clipping. Got it from DeWitt County Archives. Shari

    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] 1930 St. Clair County Census On Line
    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Was just browsing at St Clair Co, IL. They have a good part of their 1930 census on line. It is indexed with the ED#, sheet #, surname and first name, and age. Some names I recognize are Smith, Miller, Bishop, Kessler, Endicott, Jessup, Reynolds, Billiups/Pillips, White. Many German or other Nationalities that I can't pronounce let alone take the time to spell them! Some areas online are Belleville, Fairmont City Village, Washington Park village, East St. Louis, Dist. 35 and 36, and others, Caseyville village, Caseyville township. Centerville. Please pass along to other lists you may have in IL. www.usgenweb.com/il County selection: St. Clair. Takes you right to talking about the 1930 census. Just keep scrolling and reading, and you will get to it. Really worth checking out!!! Shari

    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Thank goodness for a little warm weather!!! Grass is green. I actually mowed the yard today!!! Now for some genealogy. Does anyone know if the Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington is still around? I was born in 1945 there, but don't tell anyone that. I would love to see if I can get a picture of it. Would like to put it in my genealogy album. Am putting together old pictures of towns, schools, histories, places families have been for grandson and future grandchildren. It will probably take me ten years to do all this, but at least, it is finally coming together. Am also putting together a time line of events that happened each year since I was born, and new technology such as computer chip, microwaves, the bomb, and the list goes on and on. Everything is going on acid free paper. Who knows, someday we may not be able to use CD's anymore.Remember the 8-track and turntables!! I still keep the Cd, but do acid free paper as backup. Goodnight. I have been off the list for a week. Nice talking again. Shari

    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Thanks Carlene, I went back to the 5 membership pages I have for the Christian Church of Wapella. I thought I saw all the family names, but was mistaken. I did not see James Irvin and Laura Rousey Warner Reynolds as members, either. Laura was Lloyd's mother. Do you have any idea what Lloyd did for a living? We are trying to figure out how he and some of the family wound up in Chicago. Ruby C. Reynolds Trotter, Lloyd' s step-sister died in Chicago. She married a Robert Trotter. Ruby died in 1930 at young age. Laura moved to Chicago some time after James Irvin Reynolds died, apparently to be closer to Lloyd and daughter, Elsie Reynolds Bolthouse. Elsie's husband is buried in Long Point, but have no idea where Elsie is buried. Think she died in early 80's. Still have the blood-hounds out searching. Appreciate the info on the Baptist Church of Clinton. Shari

    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] Leroy Historian Name and Museum Address
    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Keith, the lady who is a historian in LeRoy is Mrs. Helen Hume. She is not the head of the Crumbaugh Museum, but goes there every Saturday in hopes someone will stop by. The address for the Crumbaugh Museum is 405 E. Center St. LeRoy, IL 61752. In the newspaper article she sent to me when they did a feature on her, she gave a contact phone number for her at 309-962-9391. You can write to her at the Museum, and I am sure she will get the letter. I don't want to give her home address out without her permission. The museum has more thatn 5,400 pages of history. It is open from 1 to 4 Saturdays, or by appointment. Helen is 74, and very active. She still uses an old typewriter. Does not like computers. She is very quick to reply by letter. She charges just a small fee for whatever it costs her to make a copy or a picture at the store. She is extremely involved in the community. I think she saves everything from the newspapers. She married into my Great Aunts family. If nothing else, she may be able to lead you in the right direction!!. Happy Hunting. Shari
