Seek information on my g-g-grandfather John Ivins, born ca 1822-24 in NJ. Came to Illinois ca 1856. He appears in the 4th Ward of Bloomington in 1860. His wife, Caroline, died of typhoid 26 May 1861. On 20 Dec 1863 John Ivins married Alice Tutt, widow of John Tutt and daughter of John Clark. John Ivins worked for the railroad and moved to Chicago by 1870. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Paul Frost [email protected]

Mary died in 1857 and John Clark appears in the 1860 Census in the household of his daughter, Alice and son-in-law, John Tutt in Cheneys Grove Twp. John Tutt was a 1st Lieutenant in Co. F, 116th IL Infantry during the Civil War and died in the war. John Clark was a corporal in the same company and regiment and survived the war. Lazarus Powell, born 28 September 1853 10. Edwin, born 10 March 1856 11. George Marion Norton, born 23 January 1857 This family was apparently Episcopal, since they show up in the records of Ascension Church (Episcopal), Frankfort, KY. Alice Clark (born 1836) married John TUTT, a carpenter, in 1855 in KY. They appear in the 1860 Census in Cheneys Grove. Their children were: 1. Edwin M., born 29 March 1856, died May 1856 2. John C., born 28 January 1858 3. Mary Lucy, born 4 Dec 1859 died 28 April 1863 4.
