    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] George Washington Adams
    2. Does anyone have access to an 1890 census for McClean County? I would like to know where it says that George Washington Adams Father and Mother were born. He died in Downs in 1892. The 1880 Census says they were born in EVA, and I have interpreted that as East Virginia??? His parents were Christopher and Nancy Emmons Adams, and any information about them would be appreciated. Thanks, Helen Truesdell

    3. Hi Again, I think Arrowsmith is the last name of Earl C. and Boyd. Josephine Arrowsmith is also listed in Josie Davis Lott's will. Ring any bells? Dee Hi All, I am very interested in locating the family of Josie Davis. Josie Davis and Harrison C. Lott did not have any children. Harrison died first and I am searching for this Lott Family Bible that was in Harrsion's possession: The Lott Family Bible was presented to Abner & Mary Frances (Orrill) Lott by Joseph Orrill. The Bible was published by the American Bible Society of New York and was dated 1851 on the title page. I have not had any success in locating Josie's relatives in the McLean County area. I do have her will. It mentions her sister, Margaret Shield, niece Dell McQueen, and nephews Earl C.Arrowsmith and Boyd Arrowsmith. No puncuation after Earl and Boyd so were they living in Arrowsmith or was their last name Arrowsmith? I would appreciate any help. I have tried switchboard.com too. I live in MO so I don't have any of the phone books from there. This is some info I have on Josie: Josie Davis was born January 22, 1870 in Leroy, Illinois, and died August 12, 1929 in Bloomington, Illinois at the Kelso Sanitarium, of peritonitis. She married Harrison Clay Lott on January 22, 1902 in Leroy, Illinois by Pastor Thorton Clark of the M.E. Church, son of Abner Lott and Mary Frances Orrill. Notes for Josie Davis: Josie Davis Lott died on August 12, 1929. The following is from a newspaper clipping, which newspaper is unknown: Mrs. Josie Lott Dies Peritonis [sic] Fatal to Resident of This Community. Mrs Josie Lott, 59, of Minneola, [Minneota per Helen Lott Kinne] Minn., died at 7:30 p. m. Monday at Kelso sanitarium. She had been ill three days and died of peritonitis. Mrs. Lott was born at Leroy and with exception of the last 15 years had spent her life in this vicinity. She had been visiting her stepson, J. E. Lott, east of Bloomington, and her niece, Mrs. Harry McQueen of Leroy, before she became ill. She is survived by a brother, Wesley Davis of Arrowsmith and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Shields, Atlanta, Ill., in addition to Mr. Lott and Mrs. McQueen. The funeral is to be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at Beck's chapel, 116 South Main street. Burial will be in Bloomington cemetery. More About Josie Davis: Burial: Unknown, Bloomington, Illinois. More About Josie Davis and Harrison Clay Lott: Marriage: January 22, 1902, Leroy, Illinois by Pastor Thorton Clark of the M.E. Church. Thanks!! Dee

    1. [ILMCLEAN-L] Richard Roberts
    2. L. S.
    3. Jan, I checked for your ancestor and found a few things that might be of interest to you. 1) In a book called The Hudson Colony, there was section on the Hudson Baptist Church. It listed contributors for their building fund in 1859 and included Richard Roberts. This is a nice little book about the Hudson area written by Ruth Bitting Hamm in the 1970's. It could possibly be borrowed via interlibrary loan and I have also seen it available used at the bookstore site www.addall.com Those of you on the list with ancestors in the Hudson area might want to look into this book. 2) I found an R. Roberts on the 1866 plat map living residing in Gridley Township (near Hudson Township--see this link for township locations http://www.mcfb.org/oldbarns/townshipmaps.htm). There were several Berryman's living in Hudson township at the same time. R. Roberts was not listed in the 1874 plat map of McLean County. 3) I did check for published biographical material and found nothing. This is fairly typical when families left the region as opposed to those who resided here for many years and/or generations. I made copies of this information for you and if you send me your address off the list, I will mail it. 3. Hi Lisa, This is Marlys from Buffalo, MN. You located George Keller for me in Lexington Township and his wife, Lydia Rale Keller who died in Lexington Township. You mentioned the book "The Hudson Colony." I got it on inter-library loan. You were correct in saying that the info was too late for my George and Lydia. I'm not sure if the Keller's in Hudson are relatives of George or not, but the info was interesting to read and well done. I will file it in my things and perhaps one day, it will fall into place in our family history. I want to thank you again for your help. I am going to unsubscribe from McClean County, but have had fun reading about other families in the area. Keep up the good work.
