Tim-- The Illinois Newspaper Project maintains a database of old Illinois newspapers. There seem to be a couple for Chenoa, the Clipper and the Gazette, in the time frame you are interested in. You need to contact the library holding the copies directly--in this case, the Illinois State Historical Library. Newspaper project address: http://www.library.uiuc.edu/techserv/inp/webpages/main.htm (Click on "INP Newspaper database" and enter "Chenoa" for the town and Illinois for the state in the search fields to see a full listing of the holdings for Chenoa.) State Historical Library address: http://www.state.il.us/hpa/lib/ I believe their microfilms are available through inter-library loan. I haven't tried borrowing microfilms yet, but I have found them to be very helpful in other cases when I dealt with them. I think they can do limited lookups for a fee. Good luck! I would like to search through old copies of the Chenoa Clipper newspaper, or whatever it may have been called during the late 1800's. Does anyone know where I might find, the most complete collection of these newspapers? Is there anyone out there who has access to these papers, and might want to do a few lookups for me? Thanks, Tim Chambers [email protected]

I'm looking for information on a William E Edwards Jr. He was born in Chicago around 1900, and died before 1938. He married a woman who's first name was May, and she had a daughter from a previous marriage named Beverly. William (Bill) and May had a son together who was also named William. We believe the family was living in the Normal, or Bloomington area. My relatives say William was robbed, killed, and his body found on the tracks, run over by a train. No one was ever charged with the crime, and I have no documents that say this was really what happened to him. His Mother was Florence Lloyd, and Father William Sr. Siblings were Ivan, and Hiram. And also two adopted sisters names Helen and Hazel. All raised in the Austin area of Chicago. debs

Is anyone working on the surname Lloyd? I'm looking for information on "BATEMAN M. LLOYD". His wife was Elizabeth, or Mary Snyder. At least two of his children were born in Bloomington, and at least 3 were married in Mclean County. On the daughters marriage certificates, one of the witnesses is a Millard Lloyd. Millard could be a brother, or Batemans middle name (that he might have gone by.) If anyone has run across this name please let me know, I'm completely stuck, and going crazy. thanks, debs
Carol, The MAXWELL's you mention (John and Jane) are in my tree too. I do not have a William listed, but I also know that I haven't done much searching for this line. Could you tell me what your sources are for his birth to Jane and John? I have a respectable amount of info on this line if anyone is interested. She seems to have married a Henry DICKERSON before 1850, and had a daughter Jane E., 6 mo. old, in that census. Would like some help straightening out the family line.
