The names I am referencing are the second-generation in-laws. If you look at the St. John the Baptist records you will see my ancestors' family. They lived in Goodale (now Grant) Township from ~1848 on. Nicholas Adams (from Kennfus/Bad Bertrich) was married to Gertud Schmitt from Kaifenheim. Children were Catharina and Otilia Heyer (both retained the last name of their deceased father) (Otilia m Jacob Boncelett 1863) daughter Gertrude (m Franz Rosing 1863) son Bernard John (m Margarett Cossman 1874), son John (m Anna Klein 1877), and Mathias (died as an infant ~1859). I can't prove it, but I am of the opinion that there were 3 adult men with the name Nicholas Adams who were parishioners at St. John's in the 1860's. One was a founder of Johnsburg, one moved to Staceyville Iowa (or thereabouts) and one was my GGGrandfather. If it were any fewer, one of those men must have been very busy! Regards, -Dave Adams-
