If you go back to the beginning of the thread, there is quite a lot of information on the Kennebecks. I need to correct something that I posted way back in 1999, when I was just starting my research: the two brothers Johann and Bernard were no relation to my great-grandfather Gerhard. They all came to McHenry County, but J. and B. remained (see 1870 Census), while my g-grandfather moved his family to Iowa. MarV K. (not Mary)
