Cremation has been conducted. Services were Sept. 4 in Grayslake, Ill. He was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Elmwood Park, Ill., to Olaf M. Olsen and Amelia Olsen (nee Mastrodominico.) He was an ironworker. He moved to Loveland in 1973 from Illinois and lived here until 1982, when he moved to California. He moved back to Illinois in 1984. He was a longtime member of International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers, Local No. 1 in Chicago. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with family and friends. Mr. Olsen is survived by three sons, Donald C. Olsen Jr. of Solon Mills, James. M. Olsen and wife Barb of Fox Lake, Ill., and Jeff J. Olsen and wife Amy of Loveland; a daughter, Sherree L. Peterson and husband Glenn of Loveland; two brothers, William Olsen of Mercer, Wis., and Keith Olsen of Round Lake, Ill.; eight grandchildren, including Mandy Peterson, Brittany Peterson, Jeremiah Olsen and Josh Olsen, all of Loveland; three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL 60010. Strang Funeral Home in Grayslake was in charge of arrangements.
