If you go back to the beginning of the thread, there is quite a lot of information on the Kennebecks. I need to correct something that I posted way back in 1999, when I was just starting my research: the two brothers Johann and Bernard were no relation to my great-grandfather Gerhard. They all came to McHenry County, but J. and B. remained (see 1870 Census), while my g-grandfather moved his family to Iowa. MarV K. (not Mary)

I am trying to break down a brick wall on my Schuck Family. According to family information, my great great aunt, Angelica Schuck moved to Fox River Grove, Illinois. She moved after the 1920 census and before 1941, when family members remember visiting there. I have been shown one picture of her which was in front of a store called "Waddel's". Supposedly she owned the store. She may have married a Waddel or a Thaen. At least those have been suggested married names. Can anyone offer any ideas on locating this woman. Thank you for your time. Costumed interpreters will do a first person portrayal of some of Crystal Lake's earliest settlers. (Telling about their life and the early days in Crystal Lake's history). Groups of visitors (about 12 people) will be escorted around the cemetery to "visit" the featured settlers. The entire circuit should take about 45 minutes. The Walk, Refreshments, and a keepsake tour booklet are included in the admission price. $5 adults / $3 students. Proceeds benefit the Crystal Lake Historical Society. Thanks for the inquiry.
