    2. Karla VF Staudt
    3. Hi, Would it be possible for you to arrange for the e-mails that come from this list to have added to the start of their subject line with "ILMCHENR-L" ? I am not sure how you do this through RootsWeb but most of the lists I am on do this. Sometimes it is hard to tell when an e-mail from this list comes through, whether or not it is from the list, or if it is SPAM by its subject line. When in doubt, I delete them as I am sure others do as well and we miss out on the message, and the sender may miss out on an answer. Thanks! Karla staudt@cptelco.net

I found a McHenry County Fact Sheet at: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/irad/mchenry.html which says that Byron was renamed Dunham in December of 1850, about 2 months after the census was taken. At the same time, Benton was changed to Burton, Centre to Dorr and Brooklyn to Nunda.

    1. A Few Interesting Facts
    2. Here a few interesting facts I found. Joyce The Pilgrim fathers sailed from Plymouth, England, September 6, 1620 The Mayflower Pilgrims did not all go ashore the same day. The women went ashore November 24, 1620, thirteen days after the men. In 1790, the first United States census showed a population of 3,929,214 persons in the thirteen states. During 1816, in several northern states, there were frosts and snow in every month. This was due to dust in the atmosphere from volcaninic activity In 1870 it took eight days to cross the United States by train. In 1894 there were only four automobiles in the United States . Life expectancy in the United States in 1900 was 47.3 years.
