John was a nephew to my GGGGrandfather Nicholas Adams of Grant Twp also in Lake County. John Stoffel's sister Barbara married Jacob Schumacher, and they lived in McHenry. John, Barbara, and my GGGGrandfather came to the US from the town of Bad Bertrich near Cochem in the Eifel region of Germany. All three show up in both the St. John the Baptist records and in the 1880 US Census. based on the Grandfather's names you provided, I am pretty sure we are related

    1. Hedstrom-Bergstrom Wedding
    2. Catholics or Lutherans? Send letter to church requesting marriage certificate somewhere probably within 30 days of the license application date. Marriage Licenses should be available at the County Clerk's office at the McHenry County Government Center in Woodstock, Illinois. Likewise, Naturalization Papers should be available there. If you were perusing the Herald - did you look before and beyond the license application date to see if there was a wedding announcement or a follow up story on the wedding. Weddings were big news back then! They still print announcements weekly in the paper. Also, Crystal Lake Community High School (now, Crystal Lake Central High School) has all their old Senior Class photos hanging on the hallway walls - they go back to the early 1900s. It's worth a check if you think your grandparents attended high school in Crystal Lake. A few class years are missing. Jerry Hartnett Crystal Lake, Illinois

    1. Crystal Lake marriage
    2. Hello, I am trying to find information about my grandparents. Victor Hedstrom was living in McHenry County in the 1920 census. In 1924, there was a notice in the Crystal Lake Herald saying he and Hedwig Bergstrom had applied for a marriage license on January 3, 1924. I have not been able to find out anything about their actual marriage, such as date and location. Where could I look for these records? Also, if they filed for naturalization papers while living in McHenry County, where could I look for those? Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Zg.2ADI/550.2 Message Board Post: Was wondering if these family groups of Beardsleys, Kings and Lanpheres are related to the ones from Conn areas? Also if this King family is related to the Covey family? In my family group I have some Coveys, Johnsons and a whole bunch of Beardsleys, all from the same general areas in the Conn area who traveled west into NY area then further west to Ohio and parts beyond. If you have any information that might tie the King family to the Covey family I would greatly appreciate it. We are looking for the father of Hope (yes he's a male) Covey and also Isaac Johnson's father. I think I have most of the Beardsleys straightened out that I am blood related to. Haven't gone off too far on the branches yet. I am directly related to the Isaac Johnson and Kingsbury Covey families. I know from another researcher that the Lanphere name came up a few times as "living in the same neighborhood." It woud be nice if I could show him how these families are related. Does anyone know if Beardsley has any Native American blood in it? If so, where is the line? Thanks, Tim

This was originally an Irish parish starting in the early 1800's, I believe, in Hartland, which is just outside Harvard. There is no resident priest there now, but there is a deacon or caretaker there part-time. I don't have the address or phone number.
