Louise is my gr-grandmother's sister and I'd like information about her parents and other siblings. Can find no record of any of these daughters' marriages within Illinois, so perhaps moved to another state
Hello Everyone, I am doing research on the following lines from McHenry County all from the vivinity of Crystal Lake and from the time period of 1845 through 1940's. The names are Clothier - Barnes - DeGrushe - with marriages into the Lang - Thomas - and Washburn families. I am looking for someone in the area of the McHenry County Courthouse to obtain copies of some death certificates for me. I need four (4) or five (5) different ones from the period of 1877 (I think those are the first available) up to 1910. I will pay all fees and travel. I am in the process of writing an article for a newsletter I publish on the Clothier family and the upcoming issue is devoted to the lost daughters, Pelona and Narcissa, who went to McHenry County, Illinois about 1845. One was married to Leman Barnes and the other to Benjamin DeGrushe Please contact me on the list or personally via my e-mail address. I tried and couldn't get my message sent. I don't know where it is. Anyway, I am not real bright about this message board business. I do not have your email address and don't know where to find it. My email is mcravens1935@cox.net. Please contact me. I do have the book and know a little bit about the two female Bugners that married the Myers. Is that the correct spelling? I have seen it spelled about five different ways. So happy to have contact with you. I may have a telephone number for Joan Alexander.

She is from my Bugner line. I just received her information on the two Bugner girls who married Myers in Johnsburg (McHenry) IL. I was so pleased to find someone who knew something about the females in the Bugner line. We have a lot of information on everyone except the Myers families. By the way, Joan has definitely done most of the work. My hat is off to her. Let me know if I can help you.
I found an interesting site on Genealogy Frauds that I wanted to share, especially with the new researchers. Joyce GENEALOGY FRAUDS

Eva was the daughter of John Bugner and Catherine Does. John and Catherine are my great great grandparents. My great grandfather was Sebastian Bugner. The 10 children in his family were born in Rogers Park (Cook) IL. I have also heard it called High Ridge, IL. I'll not dispute either. Please correspond with me. I am so happy to have found the two missing females in our Bugner lineage. I have worked on family history for 30 years. I am sorry to say that I do not have a positive place of birth for John and Catherine, but I did get a new lead that I will pursue. I do have very much information on the other Bugners.

I have been tracking down my McHenry,IL roots for a couple of years now. I see you have been checking out sources at the Woodstock Library. I found some very interesting reading in the HISTORY OF McHENRY COUNTY. In fact there was even some information on my GGGrandfather's family (McCarthy and Goggin lines). You also mentioned St. Patrick's cemetary. I was led to believe that the McCarthy and Goggin family were there, but have been out there on several occasions and couldn't find the plots. Could be the stones have been left to such disrepair they couldn't be found. Did you perhaps find any listings at the library for any Goggin's or McCarthy's?

It was built in 1904 for a Kennebeck family. I know this because much of the original base board has written on the back "Kennebeck job". I am looking for information and pictures of the house at a younger age and its owners. Since John's (on of the brothers Henry and John as I understand so far) home was on the east side of the river in old town and south side of 120 I doubt it was for John. I am thinking it was for Henry? This is huge Victorian which we are restoring so to see pictures would be nice. Thank you for your help in advance. Greg
