Laura married a Humphrey White and two sons I know of, Humphrey White (San Diego)and Robert S. White(last known to be in Tampa, Fla) also a granddaughter Sharon Cook Valdez (California). Elizabeth View Mayerhofer married a Daniel or Daniels after her first husband death, it looks as tho he also passed away by 1930. These familys were also related to Howard and Marie Karsner, Chicago and sons Howard, Glen, Kevin Karsner. Marie Karsner later married a Kellam and had a son Donald Kellam, Chicago. There were two enclaves of Irish in McHenry Co. in the 1800's--one in Hartland, north of Woodstock, and the other in McHenry and just south of the that city (called the Irish Prairie). Some of the Irish from McHenry went to western Iowa (Carroll Co., Iowa) and settled there. McConnell is a Woodstock name so your gg grandmother may be associated with the Hartland Irish. Both groups of Irish were in McHenry Co. early--1830's and 40's, so in 1851 things were pretty well-established. There would have been many places to stay. I'm trying to find where my great grandfather, Michael Phillip disappeared to. He *abandoned* his family in about 1911/12. Hi Tony, That is really bizarre - I checked my sent file and it went to the IL McHenry List. Hmmm. I'll be back at the court house this week to check on the probate, etc. that was ordered. I can't imagine what happened - I didn't send the message to you, unless you picked it up from the McHenry List. It was issued June 25, 1846 at Woodstock, McHenry County and signed as a witness by the Clerk a Mr. Johnson (I can not read his first name initials). The wedding was solomized on June 27, 1846 by the Rev. Elbridge G. Howe a Congregationalist Minister. I am wondering if there would be anyone who would be able to check on any information on this couple or who would know any information on this couple. We are looking for any history of my great great grandfather, Klas Knutson who married a woman named Ann (Anne) in Illinois sometime between 1844 and 1856. This is the only one that we have come up with so far. According to family story, Klas married Anne who was a widow after her husband died from being kicked by a horse or cow. So if this is the correct couple, then there should also be a death of a Mr. Brenell (Brenele) in the area sometime before this. Klas immigrated from Voss, Norway in 1844 and was known there as Klas Knutson Mosafinn. In 1863 Klas and his son Knut (born in 1856) moved to Pope Co., Minnesota Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Jean in Minnesota
