A church under this name was organized in Bushnell, October 19, 1856, by a committee consisting of REV. A. WILSON and S. B. AYERS. The original members were FREDERICK CRUSER, THOMAS PLOTTS and wife, AARON SPERLING and D. M. WYCKOFF. The first meetings were held in a school-house and later in a carpenter-shop fitted up for that purpose, but a frame church edifice was erected in 1860-61, costing $5,000, which was dedicated May 1, 1861.
