Once again, I have learned to trust my instincts. I had through several sources determined that the maiden name of John Burnett's wife, Caroline <listed in McDonough Co. on 1860 census> was Millington. I really wanted to find some kind of document that confirmed this, but it had eluded me. Just this week I heard from a descendant of their daughter, Martha Burnett who married Adam Huffman in PA and settled in Fulton Co, IL. Martha's husband, Adam died and she had a second marriage when it was required to name your parents. Sure enough, she listed: John Burnett and Caroline Millington! I know there were some other Millingtons that lived in McDonough Co. and would welcome any info that can be had on them. Also, I sent a request to the McDonough Co. Historical Society for some info on these Burnetts and Millingtons last month. I sent them my file on the family and a check to cover expenses. My check has not been cashed and I haven't heard anything from them. Does anyone on the list know approximately how long I should wait to hear from them? I really wanted to know if the Burnett listed as buried in the Industry Cemetery is my John Burnett. Thanks, Linda Garrett
