    3. Hello List, I am researching the surname WARDELL. Here are two McDonough County, IL. WARDELL obits I can't connect yet. Can anyone connect or have knowledge regarding them? Judi Rogers Gilker PS: Other surnames I am researching in this area are: GOLLIHER, GALLAHER, ROGERS, BLACK Rushville Illinois Newspaper, Sept 4, 1969 Rites Held Thursday for James WARDELL, 89 Funeral services for James WARDELL, 89, of Plymouth was held Thursday at 10 am. in the Cookson Funeral home in Plymouth. The Rev. James Weiss officiated with interment in Palm cemetery south west of the city. Mr. WARDELL died Tuesday morning in McDonough District Hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 19. He was born July 9, 1880, the son of Francis and Nancy ROBBINS WARDELL. He was married to the former Susie THRAP at Rushville. He worked in the oil fields at Colmar from 1913-1920, then farmed near Rushville. He later operated a grocery store. Ten years ago he retired and moved to Plymouth. He was a member of the Methodist church. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. B.G. DRAKE of Peoria; one brother, Earl of Santa Monica, Calif.; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Hazel & Francis; three brothers, Lester, Sammy, and Henry; and two sisters, Myrtle and Lilly. Obituary of Dora Jane WARDELL Rushville, Illinois Newspaper Nov 23. 1967 Rites Held in Macomb for Dora Jane WARDELL Mrs. Dora Jane WARDELL, 80, of Macomb, former Schyuler county resident, died last Tuesday at McDonough District Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years. She was born April 22, 1887 in Bainbridge township, Schuyler County, the daughter of John and Loesa ICENOGLE VANCIL. She resided in this city until moving to Macomb in 1919. She was a member of the Rushville Baptist Church.. In 1904 she was married to Fred Burton WARDELL. He died Oct 3, 1939. Surviving are three children, William John WARDELL of Adair; Mrs. Ethel Mae GRAY of Rock Island; and Mrs. Mary WILKINS of Macomb; two brothers Herman VANCIL of Hazel Park, Mich. and Homer VANCIL of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy GOODWIN of this city and Mrs. Hattie LISENBEE of Macomb; three grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter died in infancy. Two brothers, Carl and Eber, died previously. Funeral services were held last Thursday at 2 pm. at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen chapel in Macomb with Rev. Cecil Swindle officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
