For information on Kelly Wagle's life, check out the following book: "The Bootlegger: A Story of Small-Town America" by John E. Hallwas. It was done by University of Illinois Press in 1998. The writer is a professor at WIU who likes history and it is well done. We bought the book for my mother-in-law to read some time ago as she grew up not far from Colchester during the time that Mr. Wagle was alive. She enjoyed it very much.
