Hi all, I'd like to thank Melissa for her help in discovering how to gain access to the Willey Cemetery. The cemetery is on land owned by Freeman United Coal. Since they are actively blasting the area, one must first checkin with someone at Freman United Coal Emergency Checkpoint 1. They will take you to the cemetery and you can stay as long as you need. They just need to know who is on the property for safety reasons. The hours are 7-3:30 M-Fri. Someone is also there on Saturdays. To get to the checkpoint: Go to the south end of Industry, IL on the main hwy. Go west on the street by the school (I'm trying to get more specific names for the school or street, if anyone can help) After 4 1/2 or 5 miles, at the 1st stop sign turn left Go approximately 1 1/2 -2 miles and you'll see the sign "Freeman Emergency Checkpoint 1" on the right. At this point you'll leave the paved road and go approximately 2 miles back to the building. The lady in the office Mon-Fri is Delores Beck. The phone number is 309-254-3333. I've called this number on several occasins and gotten thru, other times I get a message that it has been disconnected. Let me know if you know the name of the street by the school. Thanks, Cindy
