I got your message so I guess the list is working fine. Perhaps no one has any questions so I'll start it out. Does anyone have a David TATE b. 1808 in KY married to Nancy ? b. 1804 place unknown. These people were my ggg grandparents and were living in Macomb during the 1860 census. I have no sign of them before or after that census. The family appears to have moved on but I can't figure out where. Any help (even about migration patterns) would be appreciated. I am searching for any information about my gr gr grandfather, George Washington CAMPBELL, who married my gr gr grandmother, Mary E. TATE, in Macomb, IL on 6/27/1861. I found them before they were married on the1860 census - he is shown as a bachelor and she is shown living with her parents. The next mention of the family is on the1880 census where their daughter (my gr grandmother Nancy Isabelle "Dollie" CAMPBELL) is shown living with her aunt on her Mother's side still in Macomb (no mention of the parents). She then is listed on the Dawes Roll as married to my Gr Grandfather, Franklin BROWN . The Dawes application says they were married in 1883 in Goingsnake District, I.T. I also found them on the 1910 and 1920 census living in Narcissa, OK on what, I assume, was their allotment. Does anyone know what happened to George and Mary CAMPBELL after they were married, did they have any more children, where and when did they die, etc.? Also, does anyone know how Nancy Isabelle at the age of 20 could have ended up in Indian Territory in 1883? I have quite a bit of information after 1883 that I would be happy to share. Looking for anyone who knows anything about the Fentem family in McDonough County.
I am trying to find the grave site of my ggg grandfather who died before 1850 in McDonough Co. Eber Miller was born 7 January 1786 in Marlow, Cheshire, NH and was moving west with at least two of his sons during the Mormon migration. Bob Miller Siridh mi gu brath
-- [ From: Shirley Thielbar * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- I am still trying to find more information on my great grandfather. I am hoping someone will be able to help or recognize the following names. Alex Andrew Steele was born April 14, 1851 in Missouri and died April 23 , 1920 in McDonough Co. He was the son of Robert Steele and Mary Arnold . He first appears in the 1880 census in McDonough Co., Walnut Grove, with his mother, who is widowed, siblings: Melinda, John, and Nancy. He 1st married Lavina E. Stoneking Nov 18, 1883. She died and according to her obit (1892), there were five children who were suriving. Who were they? What happened to them? Alex 2nd married Anna A. Starr Stepember 13, 1894. No children that I am aware of. Anna divorced him the same year. I have tried to get copies of the divorce decree, but IRAD is unable to find them. He 3rd married Elizabeth Brock Tandy (my great grandmother) on March 9, 1898. According to Alex obit and another newspaper article I have, he two brothers: John and Robert and a sister: Mrs. Lucy We_leber who were still living at the time of his death. John was in Macomb, Robert was in Quincy, sister unknown. My grandfather John Huey Steele was probably born out of wedlock. Everything I have says that Alex and Elizabeth were his parents, but he was born prior to their marriage. Stories passed down were that he was the son of a McCullough/McCalully or something similar to this who was living a few doors away from the Tandy's in Fandon, Illinois in 1893- 1894. If anyone can help, I most certainly would appreciate it. Thank you, Shirley
Could there be a connection between the Frank Brooks you are researching and the Fred C. BROOKS I am researching? Fred C. was born about 1856 in Massachusetts and his occupation was Salesman according to information provided by his wife (Anna Maria TAYLOR) for their daughter's "delayed" birth certificate that was filed many years after he supposedly left his wife and their two children (Florence and Leroy Albert). Fred and Anna were married 4 Mar 1891 in McDonough Co. I hope this helps. I, also, would greatly appreciate any help: ...who were his parents? ...where did he go? ...when and where did he die? ..etc., etc. ---------- > From: kbrooks <kbrooks@ebtech.net> > To: ILMCDONO-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Roll Call > Date: Tuesday, September 22, 1998 11:37 AM > > I am researching Frank Brooks b Oct 1847 d.
