    2. Sorry I forgot the addresses:( here they are County Judge Jerry Hunton jhunton@co.washington.ar.us State Rep. Sarah Agee sagee@arkleg.state.ar.us Hi everyone.  I need help and as this is a genealogy problem, I hope you can help me.  There is a cemetery in Evansville, Washington, CO. AR called Mountain Top cemetery.  The road goes within 3/4 mile of it and then stops.  there are 120 or so stones in there and it is really hard to get to especially if it is hot or a person is elderly or disabled.  It is 3 miles south of Evansville, AR on hwy. 59.  I would appreciate if everyone would just e-mail the two address below and ask them to run the road clear to Mountain Top Cemetery.  Thanks, Juanita

    1. [ILMCDONO] Mary E. Nebergall
    2. Robert Pumfrey
    3. Hello list, I am searching for clues to the parents of my gg-grandmother, Mary E. Nebergall. She was born in McDonough County, IL, on 20 Oct 1862. On 1 July 1878, Mary and George Washington Brown applied to marry in Fulton County, IL. The application was returned to the county clerk, however, because both were minors and his father would not consent to the marriage. A daughter was born to George and Mary 6 Nov 1880 in Seward, NE, so I "presume" they married elsewhere, perhaps without proper license or perhaps in another state. By 1882 or so, they had returned to Fulton County, IL, where they lived the remainder of their days. Mary died 15 June 1890 in the Astoria area, a few months short of her 28th birthday. The 1870 Census of Fulton County lists a Mary E. Nebergall (age 4) living with Adam (age 66) and Rosanna (age 63) Nebergall in Astoria Township. Adam and Rosanna had several children, including 1. Mary E. born in 1829 and died in 1856, and 2. Pricilla born about 1831 and died in 1863. Maybe, just maybe, the Mary in the 1870 Census is my Mary with her age listed incorrectly. And again maybe, just maybe, she was born out of wedlock to Pricilla, who named the baby after her deceased sister, the older Mary E. Pricilla died less than a year after my Mary's birth. This could explain why a couple in their 60's had a young child in their home and it could explain why information regarding my Mary's parents is difficult to find. The 2nd paragraph contains a lot of speculation. The bottom line is this: does anyone out there know how or where I might find a birth record for Mary E. Nebergall, born 20 Oct 1862 in McDonough County? Thanks, Robert

    3. Sharie, I went ahead and checked on this a bit more. Thomas Langdon's land was T6N and R3W section 10. He received 160 in the SW corner of section ten. Try this site for a map: http://www.macomb.com/~ilmcdono/T6NR3W1875.jpg Each section contains 640 acres. Each quarter contains 160 acres. So by looking at the map you can divide the section into four parts. His would have been the bottom left part. For more information on how to place the information from land grants onto a map see: www.outfitters.com/genalogy/land/rfb-land.html Angie McLaughlin

    1. [ILMCDONO] Township 6N
    2. Mike and Angie
    3. If you can get more data I can help you. You need a range also. For example I am trying to make a connection with a Thomas Johnson who got bounty land at township 9N and range 3W. This is in Ellison Township in Warren County. 6N would definitely be McDonough county. Did you get the township from the Illinois pubic domain land tract search on the Illinois State Archives site? If so there will be a range. Send that to me and I will find out which township you are in. Mean while I will track down a map on-line. Also send the section number. 3. Does anyone know anything about a Thomas Langdon around 1818 or so? He received a land grant (military bounty) in 1818 from James Monroe, president. It was in twp 6-N. I don't know what township that is. I am researching John Langdon of Monmouth, Warren Co. and am wondering if there is a relationship between these two Langdon's. Thanks, Sharie Oceanside, CA

    1. [ILMCDONO] Letter from Listowner
    2. Robin Petersen
    3. Hi everyone, After months of deliberation, I've decided to give up the Schuyler County and McDonough County ILGenWeb sites. Its time to move on, become a volunteer at the Schuyler Co. Jail Museum, do research for others, and become involved in our new community. It has been such a joy for me to gather information for the sites and meet all the wonderful researchers who have strong ties to the counties. You've all been such a great support! The two sites would be nothing if not for the contributions you've sent in! I will continue as a major contributor for the sites...I still have bookcases full of information to transcribe when time permits. I do hope that one of you would be interested in becoming a coordinator...it would mean a lot to me to have someone who really loves the county take it over. If you would be interested, or have any questions, please contact me. Take care, Robin robin@firedragon.com http://www.macomb.com/~ilschuyl http://www.macomb.com/~ilmcdono
