I recently found a mention of my ggGrandfather Henry Shappard's half sister Caroline Obermark born in January 1859 to F.W.Obermark and Hanne Wilhelmine Schabbehard Obermark. My late uncle Howard Shappard of Metropolis said a daughter named "Carrie" was born to them after their 1854 marriage. I found here name listed in the confirmations of St. Stephen's Church at Midway and just this week found her in an 1893 book of biographical sketches of people from Pope, Massac and surrounding counties. The book shows her as the second wife of James Story of Brooklyn. It also says they had a child named William Clifford. I checked the 1900 census and found them there.
