I am searching for information regarding the Wilshire family in Massac County. My great great grandmother was Elizabeth Wilshire, daughter of James Wilshire. She married my great great grandfather, William Garrett, on July 29, 1871, in Perry County, and I always assumed that's where the family was from. However, I can find no Wilshires there. I noticed on the Illinois Statewide Marrriage Index that there were quite a few Wilshires in Massac County, and since that is not too far from Perry County, I thought maybe I'd find something. Elizabeth was born in England on March 29, 1852. Her name on the marriage index is listed as Elizabetta. That is all I know about her early life.
